In this class, portrait artist LeAnna Tuff will guide you in the basics of drawing, including shape, proportion, and getting your best likeness. Learn about values and shading, and about the importance of proper lighting as you draw a basic still life drawing. Learn foundational techniques that enable you to accomplish your creative goals. During the course, you can expect to complete 2 to 4 still life drawings to keep.
MATERIALS
Sketch pad, any size from 8x10 to 11x14 (example, Canson or Strathmore sketch/drawing pad), graphite sketch pencils (assortment of soft to hard: ex. 8B - 2H), erasers (kneaded eraser, gum eraser), sharpener for pencils, set of charcoal drawing pencils (optional).
The perfect continuation if you have already taken Basic Drawing I or have basic drawing skills, this class takes "learning to see," application of color, and understanding of values in lights and darks to the next level. Discover opportunities for increased detail in your work. This class will work from both still life subjects and reference photos.
